City of Palmerston will support various community groups and organisations to help celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) with a week-of free events designed to educate, uplift and celebrate women everywhere.
The engaging and empowering week offers free activities and events from Monday 3 to Saturday 8 March, with this year’s theme being ‘Marching Forward’. We are focusing on pushing boundaries, health and wellbeing, networking and gender equality.
Events are being held across a number of locations throughout Palmerston including City of Palmerston Library, SWELL and Gray Community Hall. For the full details of the weeks events please visit the website.

City of Palmerston Mayor, Athina Pascoe-Bell will be a part of the celebrations, officially opening the City of Palmerston Library art exhibition at the Beyond the Books: Marching Forward in Art event.
“International Women’s Day provides a safe space to support and inspire. The events being held in Palmerston celebrate and embrace the women in our community and the contributions they make. I look forward to celebrating this week alongside some of them”, she said.
These events are thanks to the IWD working group that is: Northern Territory Government, City of Palmerston, City of Palmerston Library, Belgravia, STEPS Group, PaRBA, NT Working Women’s Shelter and Vibrant Diverse Cultures Inc.
