DISCOVER THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS IN PALMERSTON
City of Palmerston is alive with festive cheer as Christmas Wonderland returns in 2024, promising to be the biggest and best celebration yet! Running for eight (8) spectacular nights from 16–23 December, 5:30pm–9:30pm in Goyder Square and City of Palmerston Library, the event is packed with magical moments for all.
This year, exciting new attractions join the lineup, including the arctic blast, a refreshing way to escape the NT heat, a mini carousel, and the sparkling Starburst Street. Fan favourites like the Express Train, Trussmas Tree, roving entertainers, and plenty more will make their return. Families can snap a photo with Santa Claus and drop into the library for daily Christmas Craft sessions.
To ensure everyone can experience the magic, Council will once again host its Low Sensory Christmas Wonderland on 15 December from 4:30pm–8:30pm. This event is designed for community members who benefit from a quieter setting with reduced lighting, softer music, and smaller crowds. Bookings are essential for this inclusive event.
Palmerston is ready to shine this festive season and is offering a number of other Christmas themed activities to keep all the community buzzing. Residents are encouraged to light up their homes in holiday style and register for the Mix 104.9 FM Christmas Lights Competition. If your display is crowned the best in Palmerston, you could win an exciting prize.
The festivities continue with Christmas Craft Week at the library, designed for all ages to embrace their creativity in the spirit of the season.
Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell expressed her delight at the festive season. "We are proud to bring the community together with these amazing Christmas activities and events. It’s a time for joy, celebration, and supporting one another. I encourage everyone to shop local, enjoy the festivities in Palmerston, and stay safe this holiday season."
City of Palmerston invites the community to join in these FREE celebrations. For a full schedule of activities, visit Council's website at palmerston.nt.gov.au.
