One of NT’s biggest cosplay costume comp returns to Geekfest Top End. We've seen some epic costumes the past few years and we're sure this year will be no different. We're looking for the best dressed characters from a film, book or video game. Open to all with no prior experience required.

Game Jam

Create a video game based on our Palmerston Youth Festival monster mascot. Don't fret if you're a newbie to game development or just starting out as a developer. It's not about perfection, but rather testing your skills and embracing your creativity.

Enter your game online here by 6 July. It's also where you'll find all the details on what to do.

Your game will be launched on 06.07.23 online, with public voting open from then until 8.00pm on 08.07.23. At Geekfest Top End from 5.00-8.00pm those in attendance will have the chance to play and score your game.

Youth Cooking Competition

Team up with a mate and test your culinary skills and creativity in the kitchen.

Open to 15 to 25 year old, the comp will be divided into several rounds: starting with a master class preliminary round - learn a signature main and dessert dish to recreate; followed by the cooking competition. A bonus round offers contestants an extra challenge to add special ingredients to their dishes. 

You'll work with experienced chefs + industry professionals, along with valuable feedback from judges who will evaluate your dishes based on taste, presentation, and creativity.

Suburban Sounds Selections

Think you have what it takes to rock the stage? We are looking to showcase the Territory’s finest music acts. Enter the Suburban Sounds Selections for your chance to perform on the same stage with local and interstate names!

Open to 15-25 year old, let us listen to your tunes, get selected and be ready to own that stage on 14.07.23. Not only will you perform at Suburban Sounds, one lucky artist will win a recording package at Palmerston's very own Gulwa Recording Studio.

How to take part

Sign up online here by 21 June and include one to three original songs performed or recorded by yourself or your band. 

All entrants will be notified by email of their success or otherwise on 23.06.23.
