
This workshop deals with traditional cultural knowledge which is appropriate for male-identifying participants.
Fathers and Sons are encouraged to come along together, with sons attending at no extra cost.
Week One: Borndok (spear thrower).
The Borndok was the earliest known form of leverage used by man. It was used to send a spear further and with more power than if thrown by hand. Participants will learn the creation story of the Borndok and how to use it.
Week Two: a class will not be held in week 2.
Week Three: Lama Hunting Tip
Learn how to make a Lama hunting tip (used for hunting large animals).
Week Four: Bokko Spear Tip
Llearn how to prepare a Bokko spear tip (used for fighting) the significance of it and the wood used.
Week Five: Madjubali Spear Tip
Learn how to prepare a Madjubali spear tip (used for ceremony) the significance of it and the wood used.
Week Six: Marrgidjba Spear Tip
Learn how to prepare Marrgidjba spear tip (for ceremony) the significance of it and the wood used.
