We are excited to be bringing TACTILE ARTS to Palmerston to run some incredible arts and crafts workshops throughout August, September and October.

Sterling Silver Shaggy Earrings with Debra Senjuschenko

Chainmaille is a two thousand-year-old art form originally used to create garments worn for protection by warriors from Europe, the Middle East and the Orient. Modern approaches use these classical patterns of cold-connected jump rings for sculpture and jewellery. For these non-traditional applications, hundreds of new patterns have been invented.

In this chainmaille workshop, participants will learn the correct way to open and close jump rings and how to transform connected rings into striking pieces of jewellery. This workshop provides a brief introduction to chainmaille through the creation of Sterling Silver Beaded Shaggy Earrings.

This class is intended for beginner students with no prior chainmaille experience, but more advanced students may also enjoy this course.

COST: $40.00
