
To celebrate Australia Day 2021, City of Palmerston will welcome 26 new Australian Citizens with a special flag raising and citizenship ceremony on Tuesday 26 January, at the Palmerston Recreation Centre from 1.00pm.
The ceremony commences with a traditional Welcome to Country, followed by the official raising of the National Flag of Australia conducted by the Military tri-service and special performances by Crocodile Country and Northwind Didj Orchestra.
The 2021 Palmerston Australia Day Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year will be awarded by Her Honour The Honourable Vicki O’Halloran AO, Administrator of the Northern Territory and Mrs Athina Pascoe-Bell, Mayor of Palmerston. The Student Citizen Awards will be presented by the Hon. Michael Gunner, Chief Minister of the Northern Territory and Dr Edwin Joseph, Vice Chair of the Australia Day Council NT.
Join us as we celebrate the achievements of our community members and welcome our newest citizens to Palmerston. This is a free public event and everyone is welcome.
