Citizen of the Year
Rose Rai Rajbhandari
Rose has been acknowledged for her her selfless and phenomenal leadership volunteer work with the Nepalese Association of the Northern Territory. She has been involved as a language and culture instructor to young Nepali children in Palmerston. The work she does helps young children understand the world through the context of our language, traditions, behaviours, beliefs, and values.
Young Citizen of the Year
Amy Stripling
Amy is a strong role model in the community promoting youth positivity. She has achieved more milestones than most people in their sporting career, including making the U16 Australian Hockey team and travelling to Europe, representing NT at National Championship, and being selected as the NT Hockey Future Squad Scholarship holder. As well as managing junior and senior teams, she volunteers her time to grow the hockey community as well as the local community in the NT.

Community for Community – Be Brave, Make change. Reconciliation Family Fun Day
Community for Community – Be Brave, Make change. Reconciliation Family Fun Day was awarded due to their event and commitment to promoting positive choices for our youth in Palmerston. The event was well attended and included rich cultural activities, that took place during Reconciliation Week. They continue to aim on building a strong, positive, and trusting relationship to help achieve long-lasting understanding and working towards closing the gap
