We are refreshing the mural near the Palmerston Recreation Centre and we are inviting a local young creative to design it.
The winning design will be installed near the Recreation Centre, replacing the current mural and may also appear across festival promotions and merchandise.
If you are a young creative aged 12 to 25, we would love to see your design.
Entries close: 8 May 2026
The winning design will receive a $200 prize pack and public recognition where possible.
Design guidelines
Your design should capture the energy and creativity of Palmerston Youth Festival.
Designs must include:
Tentacle Mike (orange)
Purple and pink
Lightning bolts

You can submit artwork in any style, including digital design, illustration, sketching, painting or mixed media. Artwork must be submitted in digital format (PNG, JPEG or PDF at minimum 300dpi).
Minor edits may be made to the winning design to suit sizing or branding.
Who can enter
Young people aged 12 to 25
Entrants under 18 require parent or guardian consent
Up to 3 designs can be submitted per person
