This season, two lucky winners will each receive a $200 BCF gift card every month throughout the competition.
Registration is free and now open.
Fishing locations include Marlow Lagoon, Durack Lakes 1 and 2, and Sanctuary Lakes.
Please note that fishing is not permitted in Durack Lakes 3 and 4 due to invasive aquatic weed management, as outlined on our Nature Reserves and Waterways page and no barramundi have been released into these lakes. Zuccoli lakes are also not part of the Hooked On Palmerston competition and do not contain tagged barramundi.
Before heading out, make sure to read our catch and release fishing tips.

Fishing is strictly prohibited in Durack Lakes 3 and 4 due to the presence of a highly invasive aquatic weed Ambulia ‘Limnophila sessiflora’, also known as Asian Marshweed. No fish have been released into these lakes.
Ambulia can spread quickly outcompeting other plants and form a thick mat which depletes oxygen supply for fish. To ensure the health of our waterways and prevent the spread please:
- Do not fish
- Do not remove or transport any lake water
- Do not remove, transport or disturb any floating or submerged weeds
