We have a number of community facilities available for hire for your next event. From functions and events - to meetings, art workshops and sporting facilities!

We are excited to extend our 'free facility hire' initiative for Not For Profit groups until June 2025. With Private Use/Parties/Business/Government use to be charged as per our Fees and Charges.

A refundable deposit is required for each venue*. Please refer to the facility descriptions for more information.

Driver Resource Centre

Driver Resource Centre

Consists of a central open space and is an ideal location for children events and programs. With an enclosed rear grass area, kids are free to explore the outdoors, while the interior is suitable for meetings for groups of all ages as well as for activities for kids. Not suitable for parties.

Durack Community Art Centre

This purpose-built art and culture space supports artists and creative enterprises and provides Palmerston residents with the opportunity to engage with and enjoy art, whilst overlooking the lake.

Gray Community Hall

The newly redeveloped Gray Community Hall is the perfect space for all functions and events – as well as dance lessons, workshops, meetings and activities. Maximum venue capacity: 150 people.

Gulwa Community Recording Studio

Gulwa Community Recording Studio

The first of its kind in the Northern Territory, offering local artists and musicians a chance to showcase their talents. The inclusive, multi-purpose space is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment that can be used for sound and video recording, plus more.

Open Spaces

City of Palmerston has a number of open spaces available to hire. Some locations have a variety of amenities such as BBQs, shade structures, power and water sources. Marlow Lagoon, Sanctuary Lakes and Goyder Square also have exeloos available to the public.

Palmerston Recreation Centre

With two large community rooms and two stadium courts, it's the perfect facility for any event. The Palmerston Recreation Centre is conveniently located in the city centre, adjacent to the Palmerston Library and Goyder Square.

Location: 11 The Boulevard, Palmerston City.

Palmerston Library Community Room

Palmerston Library Community Room

Located at the front of the Library, the room features full length, glass bi-fold doors which open out onto the paved and grassed areas of Goyder Square. It has a seating capacity of approximately 50, with work tables available for use.

We have equipment ready to help take your event to the next level. Our BBQ Trailer and Smoothie Bike Blender are both great engagement tools, and can assist in bringing the community together.

Location: Pick-up is from the Palmerston Recreation Centre

For all parties and functions where alcohol will be consumed, a completed Alcohol Application Form requesting permission to consume alcohol on Council's property and a copy of the approved party smart registration form must be submitted to palmerston@palmerston.nt.gov.au.

The written application must outline the date, time, venue and number of people attending the event, as well as the breakdown of alcohol that will be consumed.

Please note: In accordance with the new Liquor Act 2019, section 171, a person must not consume liquor in any public place in Palmerston without permission from the owner occupier of the public place.
