We’re developing our second Disability, Inclusion and Access Plan for 2026-2028 and seeking members to join our working group.
We hope to form a group of diverse, passionate individuals to help shape this important initiative. Our goal is to ensure the plan aligns with our Community Plan, which emphasises inclusivity, accessibility, and support for individuals with disabilities in our community.
About the working group
- The role of the working group is to provide insights, feedback, and recommendations for consideration
- Ensure the plan aligns with the needs of individuals with disabilities
- Promote a truly inclusive community
- Joining the group because of lived experience? We are offering $50 gift cards (to a Palmerston business) for each meeting.
Who are we looking for?
Individuals with experience in:
- Lived experience of disability
- Disability advocacy
- Accessibility and inclusion practices
Key dates
- EOIs close 5:00pm Friday, 10 October 2025
- Group members will be notified on or before Monday, 13 October 2025
- Working Group meetings will be 5:30pm - 8:30pm on the 3rd & 7th November. Further meetings will be determined based on the needs of the group and the timeline for developing the DIAP.
- The Working Group will continue until the DIAP is developed and can remain involved during implementation and review.
- Developed draft DIAP to go to the community for consultation in December 2025.
