We have released our draft Long-Term Financial Plan 2026-35 for community feedback.
The draft Plan acknowledges our present and prospective financial capabilities. It is designed to sustain the provision of community services, deliver essential facilities and infrastructure to the community and initiate projects aligned with the objectives outlined in the Community Plan.
Building on this, two financial scenarios have been developed to show the community how we can maintain strong reserves while ensuring long-term asset sustainability.
The two financial scenarios show how we can keep services strong and our assets well-maintained. One includes a steady 3.9% rate increase each year, while the other uses a mix of 4.9% and 3.9% in different years to also allow for some major projects.
With rising costs in areas like waste management, insurance, landscaping, and changes to rates income, we need to plan carefully. Around 85% of our revenue comes from rates and waste charges, so a gradual increase is needed to support our long-term goals.
Public consultation
The draft plan is available for community feedback, with the consultation open from Friday 9 May 2025, closing Friday 23 May 2025.
