The Palmerston Child and Youth Network (PCYN) bring together professionals from a range of organisations delivering essential services and programs for children and young people. The network works to improve outcomes for children and young people across Palmerston and surrounding rural areas.

The network provides a collaborative and supportive forum for service providers to share information, identify and address community concerns, explore funding opportunities, and promote community programs and events. Members work collectively to strengthen service coordination and improve outcomes for children and young people.

Network meetings offer valuable opportunities for sector updates and the sharing of resources and insights that benefit the broader community. Each meeting includes a regular service spotlight segment, where organisations present an overview of their services, followed by facilitated discussion.

The network members commit to:

  • Share information about programs and initiatives
  • Share success stories and showcase best practice
  • Discuss identified gaps and need
  • Build relationships and make connections
  • Participate in community engagement and capacity-building opportunities
  • Meet regularly
  • Access sector/professional development (annual conference/training)
  • Maintain awareness of funding opportunities
  • Take opportunities to lobby, advocate and influence policy
  • Advocate for children and young people and influencing policy where appropriate

Membership requires regular attendance at meetings and an active interest in promoting the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people. Service providers with an interest in child and youth health, wellbeing, injury prevention, safety, and early intervention are encouraged to participate.
