City of Palmerston’s free pre-cyclone clean-up will begin on Monday, 20 September 2021.

With the cyclone season just around the corner, it is time for Palmerston residents to look around their property and gather any potential items that could become cyclone hazards.

City of Palmerston’s hard waste collection is divided into four zones.

Collection will commence on the following dates for each zone:

Zone 1 – Marlow Lagoon, Driver and Moulden
Monday, 20 September

Zone 2 – Bellamack, Roseberry, Woodroffe and Bakewell
Tuesday, 28 September

Zone 3 – Gray, Gunn, Palmerston CBD and Durack
Monday, 11 October

Zone 4 – Johnston, Zuccoli and Farrar
Tuesday, 19 October

Hard waste must be placed on the kerb the weekend prior to the zone collection date.

City of Palmerston Mayor, Athina Pascoe-Bell encourages the community to take advantage of the annual hard waste collection.

“This is a great opportunity to not only make our community safer during the wet season, but to tidy up your own property. Please follow instructions provided by Council regarding what can and cannot be collected. It will allow the important recycling and repurposing process to run smoothly.

If you require assistance moving your unwanted items to the kerb, please contact Council at least one week prior to the collection date for your suburb,” she said.

For further information on what items are acceptable and not acceptable for this collection, visit Council’s website palmerston.nt.gov.au.
