City of Palmerston invites residents to roll up their sleeves and make a difference this Clean Up Australia Day. Join the Clean Up on Sunday, 2 March, at Hobart Park in Johnston from 7.00am to 10.00am, focusing on the Mitchell Creek bushland.
As the largest community-based environmental event in Australia, it has united over 22 million Aussies in preserving and protecting our environment over the years. This is your chance to be involved.
City of Palmerston Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell highlighted the significance of community action in promoting sustainability stating, “Events like Clean Up Australia Day is a chance for the community to come together and make a difference by keeping our local parks, bushlands and waterways clean. I encourage people to bring their families and let’s work together to keep our city and Australia beautiful.”
Gloves and rubbish bags will be provided to assist in the clean-up, with a complimentary breakfast and coffee to follow the event as a thank-you to all volunteers. Participants are advised to wear closed-in shoes with bush-appropriate clothing and bring a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
