Palmerston Youth Festival returns for its sixth year, bringing seven days of free activities and events to Palmerston from 5 – 11 July during the school holidays.

In 2024, over 7,000 attendees joined the celebrations, and in 2025, City of Palmerston aims to make the festival even larger, bringing back popular events and introducing new additions. This year, the festival will bring a new event, ‘Creative Collective’ as well as an additional day of ‘Geekfest Top End’ at Event Cinemas Gateway.

City of Palmerston Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell said the festival continues to be an incredible opportunity for young people to connect, learn, and have fun in a safe and inclusive environment.

“We are thrilled to bring back Palmerston Youth Festival, offering free and engaging events for young people. Providing accessible activities like these is important to ensure our youth feel valued and supported in our community. With the expansion of Geekfest Top End and other exciting events, this year’s festival is set to be our biggest yet”.

The festival will kick off on 5 July with Geekfest Top End, now running across two days. As the Northern Territory’s longest-running comic-con, the event will feature cosplay competitions, special guests, laser tag, medieval land, performances, and E-sports competitions in Palmerston’s CBD. The second day at Event Cinemas Gateway, will include movies, interactive gaming, virtual reality, and more.

Other festival highlights include the NAIDOC Pool Party, Pamper Palmy, Sportsfest, and the new Creative Collective, which will feature workshops and activities encouraging artistic exploration. From music and arts to digital media and design, this event provides opportunities to learn new skills and express creativity. The festival will close with Palmy’s Got Talent, showcasing local young performers.

Competitions will be held throughout the festival, with over $15,000 worth of prizes up for grabs.

Palmerston Youth Festival provides a boost to local businesses and organisations. In 2024, the festival engaged 133 suppliers, with 97% being local NT businesses. Expressions of interest are now open for food and beverage vendors, activity providers, youth organisations, and community groups.
