Help shape the future of Palmerston with our Community Plan Health Check.

City of Palmerston is completing a health check on its Community Plan to make sure it reflects the needs and aspirations of the community.

The Community Plan was developed with the community in 2018 and was first reviewed in 2021. This health check will allow community members to ensure City of Palmerston’s focus and effort aligns with the aspirations of our Community.

The Community Plan includes six core outcomes shaped by the community for which Council aligns its activities, services and budget towards achieving.

Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell said the Community Plan is built by and for the Palmerston community, and their involvement in the health check of the plan is essential. “The Community Plan is the foundation of our Council’s work and keeps our actions aligned with the values of our community,” Mayor Pascoe-Bell said.

“We’re now asking our community to join the conversation in conducting the health check on our Community Plan, sharing their ideas and priorities to ensure we’re building a vibrant, sustainable and thriving community, together.”

Community members can provide their thoughts and ideas from 1 March – 9 May 2026 via a range of methods.

City of Palmerston is also forming a Community Panel who will review and assess all feedback after the engagement period, to provide recommendations that will inform Council on the health check outcomes. The Community Panel will come together on 17 May and members provided a $120 Visa card for their time. Anyone interested in being part of the Community Panel is encouraged to register by 26 April 2026.
