City of Palmerston is partnering again with Darwin Festival to bring two nights of live entertainment, music and cultural experiences to Goyder Square.
The partnership continues to strengthen Palmerston's place as a destination for arts and culture, giving local audiences the opportunity to experience world-class performances close to home while attracting visitors to Palmerston.
The weekend begins with Family Fiesta on Friday 14 August, a free evening of family entertainment, live music and the Palmerston Markets, before Global Rhythms takes centre stage on Saturday 15 August with an energetic celebration of music and culture from across the Territory and beyond.
City of Palmerston Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell said Council is proud to continue its partnership with Darwin Festival and deliver high-quality events for the community.
"Our partnership with Darwin Festival is about creating opportunities for our community to experience exceptional arts and cultural events right here in Palmerston while showcasing our city as a vibrant destination," Mayor Pascoe-Bell said.
"These events bring people together, support local businesses and create the kind of shared experiences which strengthen community connections. We encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the free Family Fiesta and secure their tickets for what is going to be an incredible evening at Global Rhythms."
Darwin Festival Creative Director Kate Fell said Darwin Festival is delighted to once again bring part of the program to Palmerston.
"Our partnership with City of Palmerston allows us to share Darwin Festival with even more Territorians and celebrate the incredible diversity, creativity and talent that exists across the Top End," Ms Fell said.
"Global Rhythms is one of those special Darwin Festival experiences which brings audiences together through music, dance and culture. We can't wait to welcome people to Goyder Square for an unforgettable night under the stars."
