Expressions of interest (EOI) are open to join City of Palmerston’s working group to develop its second Disability Inclusion and Access Plan.
Council is inviting people with lived experience of disability, as well as those in the space of advocacy, accessibility or inclusion practice to express their interest. The aim is to bring together a diverse group of people who are passionate about building a more inclusive, supportive and accessible community for everyone.
The working group will provide insights, feedback and recommendations for Council to consider in shaping the plan. This will ensure the plan reflects the needs and ideas of people with disabilities and supports Palmerston to be a welcoming and inclusive place for all.
The first two (2) meetings will be held in early November, with further meetings to be determined by the group. To acknowledge the contribution of participants with lived experience of disability, Council will provide a voucher to a Palmerston business for each meeting attended.
City of Palmerston Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell said it is essential that the voices of the community are central to this work.
“It’s important that we involve and listen to the community we are making plans for. We want our whole community to feel included, valued and engaged. The Disability Inclusion and Access Plan is one step towards achieving this”.
Submissions can be made online or by alternative methods such as video, audio recording, in person or over the phone. For more details or to submit an expression of interest visit palmerston.nt.gov.au/EOI-DIAP.
EOIs close Friday, 10 October 2025.
