$10 desexing and microchipping program returns for Palmerston residents

City of Palmerston’s discounted desexing and microchipping program has returned to assist in reducing the population of unwanted, stray and abandoned animals in the community.

From today, eligible Palmerston residents can arrange to have their dog or cat desexed and microchipped for just $10. This will also include registration for any new dogs to Palmerston.

City of Palmerston recommends residents wanting to utilise the program, contact Council and book as soon as possible, as spots are limited.

City of Palmerston Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell is pleased the program is being offered for a second time following its success last year.

“The previous program was popular with Palmerston residents, with 118 of their pets desexed and microchipped.

We have subsidised the costs, making it more affordable and easier to be a responsible pet owner.
If you have a dog or cat which is not desexed and microchipped, I encourage you to take advantage of this great offer,” she said.
