City of Palmerston, with the support of the Northern Territory Government, are getting pumped for one of the best FREE all ages concerts the NT will see this year.

As part of a plethora of events hosted by the City of Palmerston this week for the Palmerston Youth Festival, the finale event, Suburban Sounds, is set to be a highlight and not to be missed.

With Saturday’s opening event “GeekFest Top End” bringing in crowds of more than 3800, the FREE all ages music concert is expected to attract young and old, to enjoy a range of beats from local and interstate acts.

Headlining the event will be Electric Fields, but with the unfortunate withdrawal of Tigerlily due to COVID restrictions in NSW, our ears will now be blessed with some dance bangers from the popular DJ Havana Brown! Other local acts include DJ Emily Rose and Palmerston Youth Fest ambassador, up-and-coming hip hop superstar and Palmerston born and bred youth, J-MILLA!

City of Palmerston Mayor, Athina Pascoe-Bell extends a warm invitation to the entire Top End community to join us for the finale concert on Friday night at Goodline Park.

“We have been very lucky to be able to continue to run all of our Youth Festival events for our Palmerston and neighbouring communities this year. And now to have such amazing and popular artists visit not just the Territory, but our city of Palmerston for the free Suburban Sounds concert, is just fantastic to see. We can’t wait to have Electric Fields and now Havana Brown come to party on Friday night in Palmerston. I’m sure there will be some sore dancing feet on Saturday,” she said.

The festival has activities and events happening daily, in and around Palmerston for the rest of the week, coinciding with the July School holidays.
•    Wednesday’s events will be held at the Palmerston Recreation Centre from 3:30 – 9pm showcasing some of the best junior local Basketball.
•    Thursday, Event Cinemas Palmerston will be hosting On the Hunt @ Event scavenger hunt. Groups of 4-6 are invited and registration for this event is almost booked out.
•    Suburban Sounds will be held on Friday 16 July at Goodline Park, cnr of Owsten Avenue and Forrest Parade, from 5–10pm, with gates opening at 4:30pm. You can register on-line for your free ticket.

All events adhere to COVID-19 safe practices and we encourage all visitors to ensure they do the right thing and check in with the NTG check-in app.

City of Palmerston thank the Northern Territory Government, Palmerston Regional Basketball Association, Event Cinemas Palmerston, Amiable Communications and Charles Darwin University for their partnership.
