Nominations are now open for the Palmerston Australia Day Awards 2027, giving the community an opportunity to recognise the individuals, groups and events making a positive difference across Palmerston.
The awards celebrate those who go above and beyond through volunteering, leadership, cultural initiatives, sport, community service or other activities that help make Palmerston ‘A Place for People’.
There are three (3) award categories:
• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year
• Community Event or Group of the Year
City of Palmerston Mayor, Athina Pascoe-Bell said a nomination is a meaningful way to acknowledge someone whose contribution may otherwise go unrecognised.
“Strong communities are shaped by great people, and Palmerston is fortunate to have many individuals and groups who generously give their time and energy to support others,” Mayor Pascoe-Bell said.
“Palmerston is full of people whose everyday actions make a real difference to our community. They may not see themselves as someone deserving recognition, but you might. I encourage everyone to think about the people who make Palmerston proud and take the time to nominate them.”
Nominations close Friday, 30 October 2026.
Nominations can be submitted online or in person. Printed nomination forms are also available from City of Palmerston Library, Palmerston Recreation Centre and Civic Plaza.
