10 June 2026
The countdown to Palmerston Youth Festival 2026 is heating up, with local cosplayers invited to take part in the Northern Territory’s first ever Cosplay HoloVerse experience in the lead up to Geekfest Top End.
The Cosplay HoloVerse experience is delivered in partnership with Northern Lights NT. The immersive activation will see participants transformed into holographic style digital displays using AI generated technology.
The cosplay photoshoot experience will take place at the Palmerston Library Community Room on Saturday 13 June from 11 am to 2 pm and will form part of the Geekfest Top End Cosplay HoloVerse Gallery.
Palmerston Mayor, Athina Pascoe-Bell said the activation is an exciting way to build momentum leading into this year’s festival.
“Palmerston Youth Festival is all about creating exciting and memorable experiences for young people and this activation is a fantastic example of that,” Mayor Pascoe-Bell said.
“We’re proud to be working alongside Northern Lights NT to deliver the Northern Territory’s first Cosplay HoloVerse experience and bring something truly unique to our community.”
“Geekfest Top End continues to grow every year and this activation is helping build excitement ahead of what will be another huge festival program in July.”
Northern Lights NT Creative Director Shane Eecen said the team was excited to partner with City of Palmerston to bring the innovative experience to life.
"HoloVerse combines cosplay, digital art and emerging technology to create a unique interactive experience," Mr Eecen said.
"We're looking forward to seeing local cosplayers bring their characters to life and become part of the Cosplay HoloVerse Gallery at Geekfest Top End."
Cosplayers, anime fans, gamers and pop culture lovers are encouraged to dress up as their favourite character and take part in the experience.
Those unable to attend the 13 June session will still have an opportunity to get involved during Geekfest Top End on 4 July.
Palmerston Youth Festival is a free seven day festival running from 4 to 10 July 2026, featuring events, activities and entertainment for young people across Palmerston and wider region.
The festival is delivered by City of Palmerston and proudly supported by the Northern Territory Government.
