Palmerston residents will have another chance to enrich their garden soil, as City of Palmerston will be offering a second round of free mulch this weekend. The mulch was produced from green waste collected as a result of Tropical Cyclone Marcus.
"Even though Council had an overwhelming response from the first round we held in March, we still have mulch available. Again, we would like to offer it to our community, free of charge.
Residents, if you missed out last time or need more, I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity,” said City of Palmerston Mayor, Athina Pascoe-Bell.
“Council is pleased to be able to assist Palmerston residents with another mulch giveaway and with the dry season here, now is the perfect opportunity to spend time in the garden,” she added.
Mulch will be available to collect this Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May (9am-4pm daily) from the Marlow Lagoon Recreation Area.
Residents may collect mulch in private vehicles; staff will be assisting with loading vehicles or trailers, using appropriate equipment.
Some delays may be expected; however, traffic control will be on-site. Residents are asked to please follow signage and directions to make the task safe and efficient.
Please note this offer is not available to commercial businesses.
