JOIN THE CONVERSATION ON THE FUTURE OF LIBRARY SERVICES IN PALMERSTON

3 June 2025

City of Palmerston is inviting the community to provide feedback on the draft Palmerston Library 5-Year Master Plan, which outlines the future direction of library services through to 2030.

The draft Plan has been shaped by extensive consultation already undertaken, including surveys and face-to-face engagement with residents, stakeholders and local organisations. Insights from this process have guided a new service model focused on access, innovation, outreach, and lifelong learning designed to meet the needs of Palmerston’s growing and diverse population.

This next phase of engagement invites the community to review the draft Master Plan and provide feedback on its strategies and priorities before it is finalised.

Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell said community involvement has been key to shaping the draft and remains essential as Council prepares to implement the vision.

“This draft Master Plan is built on what our community told us they value most, a welcoming library that supports connection, creativity and learning,” Mayor Pascoe-Bell said.

“We’re now asking for feedback on the Plan itself. The vision, the goals, and how we’ll deliver library services in the years to come. Your input will help us ensure this important community asset continues to grow with Palmerston.”

The Plan proposes upgrades to the main library, enhanced outreach across Palmerston, expanded digital access, and an enriched program of services for all ages and backgrounds.
