Celebrate a local legend in Palmerston, Australia Day Award nominations are open

City of Palmerston is calling on the community to help celebrate the people who make Palmerston proud, with nominations now open for the 2026 Palmerston Australia Day Awards.
There are three (3) categories to choose from, Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event or Group of the Year.
These awards recognise outstanding individuals and groups who have made exceptional contributions to Palmerston through volunteering, leadership, cultural initiatives, sport or community service.
City of Palmerston Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell said the Awards were an important opportunity to shine a light on the people who often go unrecognised but who play a vital role in shaping Palmerston.
“We all know someone who goes above and beyond. The Palmerston Australia Day Awards are a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge those people. This is our chance to recognise their contribution and celebrate the spirit of our community,” Mayor Pascoe-Bell said.
Nominations close Friday, 31 October 2025.
