City of Palmerston’s weed harvesters are one step closer to having a name!

The kids of Palmerston have been hard at work coming up with some fabulous names for our Weed Harvesters to help give them an identity as they continue to keep our lakes clean of Salvinia.

Our Elected Members had the tough decision of shortlisting 10 entries, and today it’s the community’s chance to vote for their favourite! Jump on City of Palmerston’s Facebook page or website and click through to vote! Voting is open to everyone of all ages, including those living outside of the Palmerston municipality. 

Two names as voted by the public will be crowned winners, and the entrants who suggested them will take home some great prizes. The winning children will also have an opportunity to get up close with the harvester and talk to our weed experts on the importance of keeping our lakes clean. 

Voting closes Monday 12 December, with winners announced on Thursday 15 December.
