City of Palmerston, with the support of the Northern Territory Government is thrilled to announce the return of Palmerston Youth Festival this month.
The festival will host seven jam packed events that celebrate art, culture, sport, music, and more.
Kicking off the week of fun will be Suburban Sounds; a free, all ages music concert, where Palmerston will be greeted with an all-Indigenous line up of talented musicians.
Award-winning act Miiesha (Acoustic), will be headlining the opening event, supported by Birdz, Justin Wellington, Lil Mase and a Suburban Sound veteran, Yung Milla.
Leading up to the festival, City of Palmerston held a competition where local, emerging artists had the opportunity to win a spot on the big stage supporting these artists The three winners, Prayer Corby, Minez and Lord Ndoro, will also work alongside ARIA nominated, local music producer, James Mangohig, in our brand new Gulwa Community Recording Studio.
City of Palmerston Mayor, Athina Pascoe-Bell invites the Top End community to join us for the week-long celebration.
“The countdown is on, and we are switching it up. This year we are opening the festival with Suburban Sounds at Goodline Park from 5pm, Rosebery. I can’t wait to see what the line up brings to Palmerston this year.
There will be food stalls, a photo booth, mechanical bull, glitter station and more!
Grab your friends and family and head down to one, two, or all seven of our events over the coming week,” said Athina Pascoe-Bell, City of Palmerston Mayor.
Eva Lawler, Member for Drysdale was also looking forward to the event returning this year “City of Palmerston hosts such a wonderful event that offers so much to our young people. The opening event, Suburban Sounds has a fantastic line-up, and I congratulate all our local winners!” she said.
The festival will run from 10 to 16 July, coinciding with the July school holidays.
