Palmerston Youth Festival to forge ahead
The City of Palmerston is pleased to announce that the Palmerston Youth Festival is still going ahead!

An extensive effort has been put into ensuring our events and activities remain adaptable if the current COVID restrictions happen to be extended.

Kicking off this Saturday 10 July, the festival will host seven jam packed events and competitions that celebrate art, culture, sport, music, and more.

Opening the festival is Geekfest Top End, where you will be welcomed by all things geek culture, including Cosplay, Escape Rooms, Esports, Medieval Land, and much more!

Wrapping up the week of FREE events will be Palmerston’s very own, free music concert Suburban Sounds. This all-ages event will begin from 5pm on the 16 July at Goodline Park, so bring the whole family down for some awesome tunes. This year’s incredible line-up features multi-award-winning Electric Fields as the headline, supported by local stars, J-MILLA & Yung Milla.

“We are excited to be able to bring the very anticipated Youth Festival to the people of Palmerston and surrounds during these uncertain times. I invite you all to come and enjoy what the festival and Palmerston City has to offer.

“It is important that we continue to build a thriving and safe community for our youth, with all City of Palmerston facilities and events adhering to COVID-19 requirements. Grab your friends and family and head down to one, two, or all seven of our events over the coming week!” said Athina Pascoe-Bell, City of Palmerston Mayor.

“The Territory Labor Government is proud to support this great initiative by the City of Palmerston and it’s fantastic to see that an event like this is still able to be run with COVID safe practices. Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this event together,” said Lauren Moss, Minister for Youth.

The festival will run from 10 to 16 July, coinciding with the July school holidays.

City of Palmerston would like to thank the Northern Territory Government, Palmerston Regional Basketball Association, Event Cinemas Palmerston, Amiable Communications and Charles Darwin University for their partnership.
