Round 2 of the myPalmerston discount voucher scheme is now complete with the scheme resulting in increased sales for Palmerston businesses and savings for customers.
The $90,000 worth of discount vouchers assisted customers with their everyday shopping and encouraged new spending at Palmerston outlets, generating a total spend of $497,707 in Round 2.
City of Palmerston Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell said that the next round, commencing on Thursday 26 November, is timed perfectly with Christmas shopping.
“Shopping at Christmas time can be expensive and frankly quite stressful, and this next round aims to help customers save money and encourage shoppers to come out to Palmerston to buy their presents.”
“There is free parking in the Palmerston CBD and we have some great shopping centres including Oasis, Palmerston Shopping Centre, Bakewell Shopping Centre and Gateway, as well as a wide range of smaller independents. When you shop local, you are putting money straight into the pockets of Palmerston families, and that is something to smile about,” the Mayor explained.
So who took out the most popular Palmerston business in Round 2?
• In first place taking out the top honour is Wicked NRG in Yarrawonga with over 900 vouchers spent,
• Followed by a tie between Golden Nails at the Palmerston Shopping Centre and Lakim Butchers at the Oasis Shopping Centre,
• And in THIRD place is the popular Rosebery Mini Mart.
Businesses and customers can still benefit from the scheme and sign up now for Round 3.
Round 3 will be the final round of the myPalmerston scheme where another $90,000 will be available from Thursday 26 November 2020.
