Installation of the new Electronic Speed Limit Signs at Palmerston College and Palmerston Christian School is now complete, ready for the start of Term 4. 

The signs will act as a clear visual aid, alerting drivers to the 40km/h speed limit during school hours to improve road safety outcomes for the community. 

City of Palmerston Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell said the project will provide a safer environment for all road users including pedestrians, motorists and school aged children. 

“Council is committed to improving the safety of our road network and these signs will act as an ongoing reminder for us to slow down and use extra caution around our schools to help keep our kids safe. 

“These additional signs complement the 12 Electronic Speed Limit Signs already installed at Palmerston schools in collaboration with the Northern Territory Government,” said the Mayor. 

Principal of Palmerston Christian School, Mr Ken McAllister said that ensuring the safety of our community is a key priority. 

“I am very grateful to see the recent installation of the new speed limit signs on Waler Road, Marlow Lagoon, outside our school. This City of Palmerston initiative will improve the safety for all our students and families at Palmerston Christian School and the timing is great,” Mr McAllister said.
