City of Palmerston is developing a Social Media Strategy 2022 to help guide the quality of communications via social media to the community.

The draft Strategy focuses primarily on ensuring that Council use our social media channels to connect, inform and educate.

The draft Strategy aligns with the Community Plan, using the core outcomes as our 'content pillars'. The social media landscape is ever-changing so it's important that the strategy is dynamic and allows for consistent update.

The draft strategy feeds into the overarching Communications Strategy which is currently in review, and will go to Council for final endorsement on .  It's important to note that social media is only a part of Council communication, but acts as a very important tool for connecting with the community.
