About Marlow Lagoon Recreation Area
Marlow Lagoon Recreation Area is one of Palmerston's most popular outdoor community recreation spaces giving people, and their furry friends, the opportunity to exercise, relax, connect with others and enjoy nature.
The 25-hectare area includes:
- Lakes and natural bushland
- Open grassy areas and landscaped spaces
- Walking tracks
- Playgrounds
- Public art
- Birdwatching opportunities
- Barbecue and picnic facilities
- Shade areas
- Dog park
About the masterplan
The Marlow Lagoon Recreation Area masterplan will be a high-level guiding framework that outlines potential future use and development of the area. The masterplan will be informed by the ideas collected from the community during this consultation, and your input will play a key role in shaping the future of our city.
Future development of the Marlow Lagoon Recreation Area is not currently funded, but the masterplan will help Council seek future funding opportunities from the Northern Territory and Commonwealth Governments when they become available.

The feedback collected during consultation will be provided to City of Palmerston in an independent report which will support the development of a high-level masterplan to guide the future development or the Marlow Lagoon Recreation Area.
The masterplan is a community-driven vision for Marlow Lagoon Recreation Area that will guide future planning based on community ideas and feedback, Council priorities, other projects and available funding. Detailed designs will be considered at a later stage, and there is currently no timeframe for when a design will be available for further public comment.
