Upgrades to the popular Tiverton Park are now complete, with the help of Moulden Park Primary School students.

Students presented to Council their views on what makes a great play space that everyone in the neighbourhood could visit and enjoy. The students identified specific play equipment, and their 
vision and goals for their local playground. 

The collaboration between City of Palmerston and Moulden Park Primary School brought the following new and engaging elements to the park:

•    ‘Play Alive Spider’, a traditional climbing frame with an inbuilt monitor for interactive electronic games,
•    20 metre high, single cable flying fox,
•    three play zones (including an exercise space for the adults), 
•    revitalised basketball court; and 
•    a public barbeque area for the Palmerston community.

Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell applauds the students for their creative thinking and invites them to the official opening.

“It was wonderful to partner up with Moulden Park Primary to create such an inclusive and accessible play space for all of Palmerston to enjoy. The new equipment was inspired by the student's designs and to add in that extra touch, we have digitised some recent drawings we received from the school and wrapped the shade poles with them! Students will be able to pop down to the park and find their artwork on display here.

I can’t wait to head down there on Saturday to mark the official opening of the new and improved Tiverton Park. This is an opportunity for the students to show off their creation and for the community to socialise,” she said.

The opening will take place this Saturday 18 December 2021, from 11am-12:30pm, at DeMestre Court, Moulden.
