City of Palmerston welcomes the news today from the Federal Opposition Leader Bill Shorten of $5 Million towards the redevelopment of Palmerston Pool if the Opposition wins this year’s federal election.

The “Splashing Out” initiative from Council’s recently released Pr6jects is growing a sense of community and taking advantage of our unique climate by providing more opportunities for outdoor recreation and leisure activities.

This project will provide numerous benefits to the Palmerston community including:

  • Enhancing the amenities of the local area
  • Providing greater health and lifestyle choices
  • Increasing social diversion and youth engagement
  • Creating local jobs
  • Improving the attractiveness of the city
  • Reducing effects of heat and climate

In partnership with all three levels of Government this major project will cost a total of $10 Million and enhance the liveability of the fastest growing city in the Northern Territory.
