Blessing of the Mast

City of Palmerston and the Australian Defence Force will be coordinating a blessing of HMAS Ipswich II ship mast.

The ship mast was decommissioned by the Royal Australian Navy on 11 May 2007 and joins the ANZAC Day memorial and Australian Army equipment in Memorial Park.

To mark the memorial of the decommissioning, we invite you to join us for a blessing of the mast. This occasion pays tribute to the decommissioning of a ship's active service, and to honour its past and the crew who served aboard.
