The Australian Disability Parking Permit is available to people with mobility limitations and those who require special parking consideration.
Applying for a permit
- Permits are free for eligible City of Palmerston residents.
- Please provide evidence of Palmerston residency when applying.
- Temporary permits must be renewed after expiry.
- Permits are valid across Australia, but local concessions may vary — check with local authorities when travelling.
- Permits can be used in different vehicles, as long as it is for the person with mobility limitations.

Using a disability permit
If using a disability permit within the Palmerston Municipality, your permit allows free on street parking (where parking meters are installed) in any time restricted area for twice the period indicated, e.g. 3 hours extended to 6 hours.
Misuse warning: misuse of a disability permit may result in cancellation.

- Declaration section
- Section 3 is only required for new parking permit requests
- A qualified medical practitioner must complete the doctor's report section. This confirms:
- The applicant’s physical disability
- How it impacts their mobility
- Submit the completed form along with the doctor's report (if applicable):

- Once approved, the disability parking permit will be issued. This allows parking in designated disabled parking spaces within Palmerston.
