We are focussing our efforts on introducing a more genuine and collaborative engagement approach when it comes to making decisions for our community. We have a diverse community that all have preferred ways of communicating, and it is our goal to ensure we listen to everyone.
Our proposed Community Engagement Policy, sets the guidelines in place, and invites the community to have a conversation with us. Conversations are key to making decisions. Your knowledge and experience helps us build the community.
Our draft policy embraces two-way communication and identifies various ways that engagement can take place which may be in person, over the phone, through social media, via a voice memo and even through surveys. It's all about your personal preference.
We want to have a conversation with you to find out your thoughts on the engagement policy, principles and how you prefer to provide your feedback on council initiatives and projects. We've used guidance from the core values of IAP2, as well as what is relevant and accessible for our community, so let us know how we did. No idea is too great or too small!
We have provided some options of ways to send your feedback through in the below form, and if you would like to have a conversation, you can call us directly on 08 8935 9963 or 0427 548 014, email us on marcomms@palmerston.nt.gov.au, or private message us on our socials.
