
Calling all of Palmerston's creatives! City of Palmerston is offering a shared space at the Durack Arts Centre for all creatives aged 15+.
Come along to our weekly meetup, where you can:
- meet other creatives
- bring your stuff and get creative in a purpose-built space
- collaborate on projects or work independently on your art
- get inspired or speak to local artists for support
When: Monday's any time between 5pm-7pm
Location: Durack Community Arts Centre - 33 Packard Ave, Durack

Free introductory workshops
A free creative workshop will be held on the first Monday of every month with two of Palmerston's coolest artists Sarah Taylor and Polly Johnston.
All levels welcome. A step-by-step guide on creating an artwork will be delivered - or if you have your own project our artists can help with tips and advice.
Timetable
- 03 October - Photography
Play with light, colour and composition to get the most from your phone camera. Participant must bring their own device to take photographs with.
- 7 November - Acrylics
Create an underwater reef scene learning different painting techniques and tips.
- 5 December - Oils
Learn basic application of oils in starting a landscape. Washes, blending and layering will be the aim of the workshop. (Participants be aware that your artwork will be wet to take home)
- 9 January - SFX Makeup
Get hands on learning the basics of (SFX) Special Effects Makeup with Danielle from Zesty Production.
- 6 February - Pastels
Focusing on chalk pastel application, participants will develop blend, layer and line techniques to develop an artwork that is a little bit fishy.
- 6 March - Watercolours
Use watercolour techniques and pen and ink, exploring a number of different styles.
- 3 April - Jewellery
All things shiny and all things sparkly for this workshop! Make a piece of jewellery or a key ring and learn about the material use can use to do so.
- 8 May - Sketching
Explore different mediums including, charcoal, graphite and colour pencils, Inspired by local plants, flowers and fruits.
- 5 June - PrintMaking
Layer different materials and textures to create a relief print using scratch foam. Participants will then compare this to a monoprint using different textures.
